Jump Lines
The nonprofit Maine Media Women’s organization has released a 156-page collection of written and artistic works contributed by its members. Jump Lines was officially unveiled by Genie Dailey, MMW secretary and the book’s project editor, at the organization’s annual meeting on May 7. The book was compiled to celebrate MMW’s 60th anniversary, and features a variety of prose, poetry, and artwork ranging from pencil drawing to colorful painting and photography.
Jump Lines takes its title from the “continued” lines (jump lines) that appear in magazine and newspaper articles—indicative of the continuous growth and change in both the Maine Media Women organization itself and among its creative membership.
Using all-digital technology, the 6 x 9 paperback was produced through Maine Authors Publishing in Rockland, and is available at book and gift stores throughout the state. (www.maineauthorspublishing.com)
